Imidacloprid Has High Virulence In Peanut Root-Knot Nematode

- Nov 09, 2018 -

Researchers from the College of Forestry in Henan University of Science and Technology, using the impregnation method, determined the imidacloprid pesticides at different concentrations and time to tested its virulence on the 2nd instar larvae of peanut root-knot nematodes, C. nematodes, Bessie nematodes, pine wood nematode, and Rotting stem nematodes. Examined its inhibition rate on the eggs hatching of peanut root-knot nematode .

The results showed that peanut root-knot nematode was the most sensitive to imidacloprid, and the rotting stem nematodes was the least sensitive. At a concentration of 100 g/L, deal with 48 hours, the mortality of imidacloprid against peanut root-knot nematode, C. nematodes, Bessie nematodes, pine wood nematode, and Rotting stem nematodes was 91.00%, 65.70%, respectively. 45.70%, 44.00%, 9.67%. The hatching inhibition rate of peanut root-knot nematode increased with the concentration increase of the drug.

As of the end of September 2018, China has approved four imidacloprid products (all of which are compounded with avermectin) to register and control plant nematode diseases. Registered crops and control objects include peanut root-knot nematodes, black cutworm, crickets, and mole crickets, Fritillaria crickets and tomato root-knot nematodes.
