The latest control methods for 18 kinds of citrus pests (red spider, hibiscus, etc.)

- Sep 04, 2018 -

1. Diaphorina citri

Diaphorina citri is the most important pest control object of citrus. It spreads very fast. Staying in the tree for 2-3 hours will leave a virus. Normal Diaphorina citri is hard to find. It is small. If you find a lot of Diaphorina citri, the orchard are already beyond cure and the spread of Liberobacter asiaticum was also very serious.

The Diaphorina citri occurs throughout the year and is mainly harmful to young shoots. It is the only field-borne medium for Liberobacter asiaticum. It can be transmitted for 3-4 hours. Therefore, drug selection must be efficient and quick-acting.

Effective drugs:

20% Fenpropathrin 2000times + 20% clothianidin 2000 times;

12% lambda-cyhalothrin·13% clothianidin 2000 times;

Fenpropathrin/bifenthrinl 1500-2000 times + imidacloprid / pyriproxyfen 1000 times;

The chemical control agent of hibiscus is the preferred method for the control of the combination of inulin and nicotine. The reason is that the hibiscus does not fly to the fruit tree during the spraying process, and the addition of the systemic agent helps to penetrate the second kill.

2. Main pest - red spider (mite)

Red spiders occur 18-30 generations a year. During the two major outbreaks of spring and autumn in a year, red spiders have sex reproduction. Females can also have solitary reproduction. 30-60 eggs are laid at one time. When the temperature is 25 degrees, a generation needs about 16 Day; about 12-14 days at 30 degrees; about 63-75 days for a generation in winter. So emphasis on winter clearing, cleaning off eggs. Eggs are produced on the back of the leaves and the groove of the branches, which is not conducive to pesticide coverage.

Effective drugs:

Non-growth season (winter): 200-300 times of mineral oil + abamectin;

Growing season: application of oxazolidine, Bifenazate, Abamectetc.;

There are currently only four types of ovicides available: Hexythiazox, clofentezine, etoxazole, Spirodiclofen

At present, spider mites are becoming more resistant to acaricides. The pressure of prevention and control is huge. Rational use of drugs, pay attention to rotation. Pay attention to visit the orchard to prevent outbreaks!

In addition, Increasing the drug concentration doesn’t mean the better drug effect. In the range of lethal, the coverage area is the larger, the better the effect is. The current acaricide is mainly based on contact. How much drug covering, then how much disease prevention effect is. Red spider resistance is relatively large, so second drug spraying should be applied after 5-7 days.

3. The main pest of citrus, a rust tick (rust rust) (May-November)

Can also be controlled by cyromazine, so on.

5.Aphid

Aphid is the main pests of young shoots, and its secretions induce soot.

Aphids include: orange aphid, cotton aphid, spirea, and orange birch, about 20 generations a year, about 5.5-42 days in a generation, an average of 10.6 days, and 4 times of molting. Mainly harmful to young shoots.
