Application of Plant Growth Regulators in Lettuce

1. Break the dormancy

(1) Break the seed's dormancy at room temperature

The dormancy of lettuce seeds can increase the ability of seeds to germinate at high temperatures. We can used concentration of 100mg/Lgibberellic acid solution treatment, germination rate of about 80%; with 0.2% thiourea, germination rate of 75%; soaked with 100mg/L kinetin solution for 3 minutes, can overcome dormancy. Both kinetin and 6-benzyladenine promote lettuce germination at high temperatures, and are effective at 30°C. When the temperature reaches 35°C, the effect of kinetin is even more pronounced.

(2)Break the dormancy of the seeds at high temperature.

The autumn sowing time for lettuce is from July to August. The weather is hot and direct sowing, and the germination rate is very low, less than 15%, It is necessary to treat seed at wells, such as pits and refrigerators, and break the dormancy to germinate. Can also be used 5mg/L of 6-benzyl adenine, 5mg/L gibberellic acid soaked for about 8 hours, and then rinse with tap water, germination rate can be increased to 80%. If 6-benzyladenine is mixed with gibberellic acid at 5 mg/L each, the effect is better. When using 6-benzyladenine and gibberellic acid, the concentration should not be higher than 7.5mg/L, otherwise the germination rate will be reduced and the drug damage will be caused.


2. Promote growth

For lettuce, which is mainly composed of edible shoots, when the plants have 10 to 15 leaves, they are sprayed with gibberellic acid at a concentration of 10 to 40 mg/L to accelerate the differentiation of the heart, increase the number of leaves, and rapidly elongate the shoots. 10 days early harvest, increase production by 12% to 44.8%. Before leaf lettuce is harvested for 10 to 15 days, treatment with gibberellic acid at a concentration of 10 mg/L can increase production by 10% . The application of gibberellic acidshould be avoided to avoid the use of high concentrations, it is not appropriate to spray too little in the seedlings. Lettuce application of gibberellic acid to promote the growth of stems and leaves, should be treated in early spring, the effect is more obvious. If it is reprocessed by the end of spring and early summer, the temperature has become warmer and the effect is not necessarily obvious. Under the condition of high fertilization level and sufficient water, gibberellic acid promotes vegetative growth more obviously.

With the concentration of 10mg/L of ABT5 increasing production spirit, immersing lettuce root for 20 minutes can also make the root system of seedlings developed, and the stems of the bamboo shoots are thick, increasing the yield by 25% to 30%. After full growth of the lettuce leaves, the leaves were sprayed with 350 mg/L of CCC liquid every 5 to 7 days. Spraying 2 to 3 times, the stems were stout and the quality and yield were improved.


3. Inhibition of the growth of stem

When the lettuce begins to grow, spray the plant with daminozide(B9) solution at a concentration of 4000~8000 mg/L for 2~3 times and spray once every 3~5 days, which can obviously inhibit the convulsions and increase the thickness of the stem. Increase product value.The spray of butyric acid in the solution of 4000-5000 mg/L daminozide acid could inhibit the twitching of the leaves of the cabbage. In addition, spraying with daminozide solution at a concentration of 2000~ 4000mg/L sprayed 2 or 3 times before the expansion of lettuce stem can promote the enlargement of lettuce.


4.Promote the growth of stem

When it is difficult to keep lettuce, spraying gibberellic acidcan promote lettuce twitching and reduce rot. When cabbage has 4 to 10 leaves, spray with gibberellic acid at a concentration of 5 to 10mg/L to promote knots. The ball lettuce twitched and bloomed before the ball was stalked. The seeds matured two months earlier and increased seed yield.


5. Chemical control and preservation.

After the lettuce is harvested, yellowing, defoliation, and finally rotting can be used to avoid losses: Before harvest, the field is sprayed with 6-benzyl adenine at a concentration of 5 to 10mg/L, followed by harvesting. The time for keeping fresh green after packaging is prolonged for 3 to 5 days. If it is processed 3 to 4 days before harvesting, it is basically ineffective. After harvest, leaves are soaked in the same concentration of 6-benzyladenine and then placed under low temperature conditions. Storage can delay the storage period. On the day after harvest with a concentration of 2.5~10mg/L of 6-benzyl adenine spraying lettuce, the better. 6-benzyl adenine treatment must be combined with low-temperature refrigeration, in order to show a good effect, the temperature exceeds 20°C, but will accelerate its decline. If the lettuce is first stored at 4°C for 2-8 days, then the foliar is sprayed with a 6-benzyl adenine solution at a concentration of 5 mg/L and stored at 21 °C. After 5 days, there are more 70% can be listed.

The leaf and stem of lettuce were impregnated withgibberellic acid solution or chlormequat solution at a concentration of 5~1000 mg/L. It was found that the impregnated leaf was more effective than the impregnation of the base of the stem, with a concentration of 60 mg/L of Chlormequat(CCC) liquid and 120 mg/L. The daminozide hydration solution works best. Treatment with chlormequat and daminozide should be carried out under high temperature conditions. The concentration of immersed drug should be lower; on the contrary, it should be higher.
