Application of Plant Growth Regulator in Cotton

1.  Promoting the germination of cotton

 Gibberellin(Gibberelic Acid GA3). The seeds of cotton seed are usually planted normally if they are seeded in time. However, in order to reduce the low temperature and other adverse conditions to delay the germination or to cause rotten seeds, the plant growth regulator can be adopted to accelerate the germination and promote the whole seedling. In general, it is feasible to soak the cotton seeds in the 200mg/ kg GA3 solution for 6 hours, and let them dry, then sow.

Diethylaminoethyl hexanoate. Soak the seeds for 6-8 hours with 6mg of amine fresh ester liquid. Next, let them dry, and then sow.

2. Hestening rooting

Sodium naphthalene-1-acetate(NAA-NA). The seeds were treated with 10mg/l NAA-NA, which had a good effect on the root development of cotton.

ABT Rooting Powder. ABT also has good effect of promoting root growth, but it is generally not recommended to use such agents in terms of convenience and cost.

3. Strengthening the seedling

Diethyl. The leaf surface was sprayed 1 to 2 times every 10 days with 10-12mg/l diethy, which make the cotton plant strong and anti-retrograde, and that also lay a good foundation for the later plant stimulation.

Mepiquat Chloride. After the cotton seedling, the leaf surface was sprayed with 50mg/l Mepiquat Chloride solution. It is also possible to use Mepiquat Chloride in the bud period.

Choline Chloride. Choline chloride can promote the growth of cotton seedling and improve the quality of cotton seedling. This is conducive to cultivating strong seedlings and promoting early germination and early development. The optimum concentration of stirring seeds is  50mg/l.

4. Controling the growth of cotton in vain

Chlormequat chloride(ccc). The main stem of cotton elongates slowly, and the plants are shorter, the fruit branches shorter, and the strains become compact after being treated with ccc, which  is beneficial to the field ventilation, the stability of the middle and late stage and the improvement of photosynthesis. According to the test, the height of the cotton plant treated by ccc is 20 to 30cm lower than that of the uncontrol group, and the upper fruit strain is 1-7cm shorter than the uncontrol.

Gibberelic Acid GA3. According to the report, spray the seedling with 20mg/l gibberellin liquid on the day of flowering, which can reduce the buds drop off. But it only has the effect of prevent falling off due to turning to spray the ga3 solution on the cotton boll, spraying the whole plant has not the best effect..
